New Year Fireworks @ Aalborg

"Godt Nytår"
On the midnight of new year's eve, we decided to go to city centre to see the fireworks. We were in double mind till the last minute, since it was freezing cold outside (-2 degs). At last, made up our mind and got stuffed ourselves inside in a pile of clothes and jackets, we went to centrum. We decided to catch the view from the bridge over the limfjord, because that gives us the chance to see the fireworks from Aalborg side as well as Norresundby side. Not many ppl were around when we reached, but as time was creeping towards midnight, lot of ppl started gathering on the bridge. At 00:00:00, the fireworks started. It was a spectacular view !!! Fireworks everywhere... It was worth to be outside in that freezing cold. Everybody around started wishing each other. Fireworks went on for around an hour. It was a great way to start the new year...Wish you all a very happy new year - "Godt Nytår"

NewYear FireWorks

Welcome 2008 ! We had a small party with friends during New Year Eve. And as always, there were some nice fireworks around the place we stayed at 12 midnight. I had plans to take some snaps, but was not quite sure how to go about it. Anyway I thought of giving it a shot. At 12, I went out with tripod and found a nice place where I can fix my camera. It was freezing cold (I got cold for next 3 days!). To avoid shaking, I had put the camera in timer mode. The shutter speed was between 4 to 8 secs. (I could have put more time, but with more than 3-4 fireworks overlapping in same frame, it was not very pleasing to eyes. It was just like one bright round ball with no interesting pattern). Here are some of the snaps which I took.
