An Ice Hockey game we went to see here in Aalborg. It was Aalborg vs Frederikshavn (another city in Denmark). Even though we had seen Ice Hockey games in TV, this was our first time to an Ice Hockey Arena. I have to tell you, its an amazing experience. With all the people around you supporting the home town, you feel like you are seeing a live war! I never knew that the rules are so relaxed that you can literally hit and bang on opponent! May be thatz the beauty of this game :)

Snow Fall 2008
Compared to last year, there was no snowing at all in Aalborg this time (atleast till now!). Last year around end of February, there was this huge snow blizzard, which even completely made Aalborg stand-still with roads covered with snow, no vehicles running, no office, etc... But this year it just snowed for 1 day in January and since then, the weather seems to be improving in positive direction. Personally, I would prefer to have some snowy days during the year, otherwise whatz the fun of being in a scandinavian country? So, keeping my fingers crossed and camera ready for some heavy snow fall ;)

NewYear FireWorks
Welcome 2008 ! We had a small party with friends during New Year Eve. And as always, there were some nice fireworks around the place we stayed at 12 midnight. I had plans to take some snaps, but was not quite sure how to go about it. Anyway I thought of giving it a shot. At 12, I went out with tripod and found a nice place where I can fix my camera. It was freezing cold (I got cold for next 3 days!). To avoid shaking, I had put the camera in timer mode. The shutter speed was between 4 to 8 secs. (I could have put more time, but with more than 3-4 fireworks overlapping in same frame, it was not very pleasing to eyes. It was just like one bright round ball with no interesting pattern). Here are some of the snaps which I took.

Fall is a beauty
Some of the snaps taken during last fall (2007) here in Aalborg, Denmark. 4 kms from our house is a small nice forest called Lundby Krat, which is nice picnic spot for danes during sunny days. Though the forest itself was not colorful, when I went it was nice weather and was a very good time to walk. The pictures below are taken from this forest and rest near to the place we live.

"After the Rain"
After I received my Canon 400D, the initial days were so exciting for me. I wanted to try out all the possible options, all settings, everything. I used to come home early from office, just to go out and take some pictures. But somehow last summer we had here in Denmark was not quite sunny at all. We used to have occasional rains. On one of those rainy evenings, after the rain stopped, I thought of this theme - "After the Rain". I took my camera and kit and went for a walk. I was so surprised to see that, what I could see with my camera angle were very ordinary things which I used to see everyday on our evening walks. But through the lens its looked amazing. Light was not enough, since the rain had just stopped. So the shutter speed had to be high and I didn't have a tripod with me. But the photos came out quite well.
